Nobody Asked Me To

Nobody Asked Me To

After my husband’s stroke and he had completely recovered, I could look back and find humor in some of the circumstances. At the airport when Steve was very confused and couldn’t move his left side, he kept saying we had to hurry to make the plane. I responded that he wasn’t going anywhere, that he had had a stroke. He didn’t seem to understand so I pointed out (by way of proof) that he couldn’t move his left arm. And like the lawyer he is, Steve logically answered, “But nobody asked me to.” Some things never change.
